Starting Point

The museum was built to exhibit the works of Hiroshi Senju, the first Asian artist to be honoured at the Venice Biennale. It is an open building, flooded with light, where visitors can admire his works of art, relax and spend some time.

Solution

The extensive window fronts allow the surrounding greenery to become a part of the exhibition. The exhibited works of art are protected from damaging UV-rays by a large eave and special UV-absorbing curtains. The textile, however, still permits visual contact with the outside world. The individual panels are fastened to the top of the windowpanes using Velcro® strips.
