Starting Point

洞爺湖のほとりにかつてあった高齢者施設が、建築家 隈研吾氏の手によってブティックホテルへと生まれ変わりました。外観と内装に地元産の杉の木を使用したことで、このホテルの宿泊客は、杉林のような快適で暖かい客室を満喫することができます。

Solution

ホテルの内部に目を向けると、建築家はとても印象的であると同時に調和の取れた客室を数多く作り上げています。バーとレストランにプリーツ状にしたファブリックをふんだんに使用することで、素晴らしい湖の景色が目の前に広がる洞窟のような雰囲気になりました。
