Starting Point
ahrens & grabenhorst architects in Hannover needed more space and a communicative environment for their new studio. They achieved this aim by converting former bank premises at the heart of the city centre.
Solution
Textiles were used here to optimise the acoustics of the room, to provide privacy and prevent glare and for the spatial zoning/separation of different working areas.
Directly behind the entrance door, visitors are welcomed by a lounge, where transparent curtains, a genuine Persian carpet and two mushroom-like standard lamps create a remarkable atmosphere.
The conference rooms can be separated from the rest of the working area by a system of made-to-order acoustic curtains connected to a motor. If necessary, these can be moved into position by remote control.
